Opening doors to new livelihood opportunities, one centre at a time

March marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the Livelihood Resource Centre (LRC) and SEED Centre, a major step towards enabling an innovative experiential learning approach for the waste pickers' community. This exciting journey began with the opening of the LRC at JC Road, celebrating the establishment of additional centres in Goraguntepalya and Hebbal.

The LRCs are designed to guide candidates through their chosen career paths, equipping them with the necessary skills and confidence. The interactions with Phase 1 candidates, now thriving as beauty and tailoring entrepreneurs, reveal stories of transformation and success that inspire us to continue our efforts.

Recently, the Hasiru Habba event organised by Hasiru Dala provided a platform for these beauty and tailoring entrepreneurs to showcase their work and achievements. Partners and attendees were thrilled to witness the tremendous progress in the confidence and ownership the women display, as well as the pride they take in their skills and creativity. These centres highlight the ongoing impact of our partner initiatives and reinforces our commitment to fostering growth and empowerment within the informal waste pickers’ community.
